North South University (NSU) has announced a shift back to the trimester system starting Spring 2025, moving away from the semester format that was introduced in Spring 2023. The change comes after thorough evaluation and input from students, who expressed concerns that the semester system strained resources and wasn’t as aligned with their needs.
The university’s administration believes that returning to trimesters will provide a better structure for both students and faculty, allowing for improved course management and student engagement. With this change, the intersession period will be removed due to the shorter duration of each trimester.
NSU’s Registrar confirmed that the switch aims to enhance academic performance and overall campus experience, marking a strategic return to a system that has traditionally served the NSU community well.
