US-based Bangladeshi boxer Zinnat Ferdous made history by securing a bronze medal at the prestigious Boxam Tournament in La Nucia, Spain. Competing in the Elite Women’s 50kg category, Zinnat shared the third-place position with Spain’s Laura Calderon, while England’s Alice Pumphery and Ukraine’s Yaroslava Marynchuk took gold and silver, respectively.
This was Zinnat’s debut appearance in the tournament, where she proudly represented Bangladesh as the country’s sole participant. Reflecting on her achievement, she expressed gratitude and determination for future victories.
“While this bronze medal is a significant achievement, I’m determined to bring home the gold next time,” Zinnat told Dhaka Tribune.
