Tesla has made waves once again with the reveal of its new Cybercab at the highly-anticipated “We, Robot” event. The Cybercab, a smaller, two-seater version of the iconic Cybertruck, caught the attention of tech enthusiasts and Tesla fans alike. In a grand display at Warner Bros. Discovery studio, CEO Elon Musk presented 20 of these futuristic vehicles, showcasing Tesla’s vision for the future of transportation.
While many expected a glimpse of fully autonomous robotaxis, Musk delighted the crowd by unveiling the sleek, gullwing-doored Cybercab. In a short demo around the studio lot, the Cybercab’s capabilities were on full display, highlighting Tesla’s latest innovation.
Musk emphasized that the cost of owning a Cybercab will be surprisingly affordable. “You’ll be able to buy one for under $30,000,” he said. Musk also predicted that operating costs could drop as low as $0.20 per mile, making it a breakthrough in autonomous transportation.
Fans were thrilled to learn they could test the Cybercab themselves during the event. Musk also shared that the vehicles use inductive (wireless) charging instead of traditional plug-in systems, adding another layer of futuristic appeal.
Production of the Cybercab is expected to begin by 2026, with Musk hinting at possible launches as early as next year for Tesla’s unsupervised FSD (Full Self-Driving) in Texas and California. The future of personalized, autonomous travel is closer than we think!
