Teen-Led ‘Mindsphere’ Sparks Mental Health Movement in Bangladesh

Mindsphere, a teen-led nonprofit initiative, is transforming the conversation around mental health in Bangladesh. Founded in November 2024 by S M Shadman Khan, the platform is dedicated to creating safe spaces, breaking stigma, and empowering youth through self-improvement.

Mindsphere provides a community-driven platform where teenagers and young adults can openly discuss mental health struggles. Unlike therapy or professional counseling, the initiative fosters peer-to-peer dialogue, allowing youth to exchange experiences, share suggestions, and support each other.

The organization regularly hosts awareness workshops, community discussions, and innovative projects designed to normalize mental health conversations. Its latest project, “Peer Support,” trains volunteers to offer empathetic peer-to-peer conversations for individuals experiencing mental distress. While the team does not provide clinical psychological services, international experts from Germany and South Africa, along with Bangladeshi psychologists and mindset trainers, guide the initiative with mentorship and insights.

“Mindsphere was founded because I realized the silent struggles of teens like me who face challenges like depression, anxiety, and loneliness,” said S M Shadman Khan, Founder of Mindsphere. “Our mission is to give youth the courage to speak up, support one another, and build a compassionate society.”

Mindsphere’s work extends beyond mental health awareness. It also focuses on self-improvement hubs, youth empowerment programs, and mental health literacy campaigns. The initiative has already inspired hundreds of students to take part in awareness activities, while its digital platforms continue to grow as safe online communities for well-being and personal growth.

Looking ahead, Mindsphere welcomes partnerships, collaborations, and media support to expand its reach and amplify its vision of youth-led mental health advocacy, both within Bangladesh and globally.
