Pakistan has approved scholarships for 100 Bangladeshi students to study in Pakistani universities. This initiative, greenlit by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, marks a step toward strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations. The news was reported by Sama TV on Wednesday.
The report highlights that Pakistan’s decision comes as a gesture of goodwill after Bangladesh lifted restrictions on Pakistani students studying at Dhaka University. This scholarship program could open new doors for Bangladeshi students seeking higher education opportunities abroad.
Sources indicate that the Pakistani High Commissioner in Bangladesh played a key role in advancing this initiative. To facilitate the scholarships, Pakistani universities will integrate Bangladeshi institutions into their respective online portals.
This development coincides with improved relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan following the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government. Collaborative efforts between the two nations have also extended into other areas, such as trade. Just last week, a cargo ship from Karachi docked directly in Chattogram, signaling growing cooperation.
