Mahmudullah Riyad has made history by becoming the first Bangladeshi cricketer to smash 200 sixes in international cricket. The seasoned batter achieved this milestone during an unbeaten 50-run innings off 44 balls against the West Indies at Warner Park, St. Kitts, on Sunday. His knock included three sixes and three fours, marking a significant moment in his illustrious career.
The milestone six came off the first ball of the final over, as Mahmudullah lofted Romario Shepherd over the boundary. This remarkable achievement places him as the 41st player globally to hit 200 international sixes.
Since his debut in 2007, Mahmudullah has amassed a total of 200 sixes across formats—24 in Tests, 99 in ODIs, and 77 in T20Is—spanning 430 innings. He leads the list of Bangladeshi six-hitters, followed by Tamim Iqbal (188), Mushfiqur Rahim (173), Shakib Al Hasan (135), and Liton Das (119).
Globally, Mahmudullah remains far behind India’s Rohit Sharma, who tops the chart with 624 sixes, followed by Chris Gayle (553) and Shahid Afridi (476). However, this milestone cements Mahmudullah’s legacy as one of Bangladesh’s finest power-hitters.
