Intern Ditches Role After Securing Funding for Own AI Startup

In a surprising turn of events, an intern from Bengaluru gave up his internship after his own AI startup secured funding from a venture capitalist. The incident, which was shared on social media by Karthik Sridharan, founder of Flexiple—a platform connecting companies with software developers—quickly went viral.

Sridharan shared a screenshot of the WhatsApp exchange where the intern abruptly announced his decision to quit the internship after receiving funding. Describing it as a “peak Bengaluru” moment, Sridharan remarked that such an event could only happen in a city known for its booming startup culture.

Social media users had mixed reactions. While many were impressed with the intern’s entrepreneurial success, several pointed out the lack of proper communication. Entrepreneur Abhimanyu Saxena commented, “Glad for the kid! But someone should guide him on better communication.”

Karthik M Bhat echoed this sentiment, advising the intern to “be more courteous” while celebrating his achievement. Others, like user DRIX10, emphasized the importance of basic communication skills and respect, regardless of success.

Despite the critiques, the intern’s story remains a testament to Bengaluru’s dynamic startup ecosystem, where even interns can launch successful ventures.
