Bangladeshi student GM Hasan Ul Banna has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing a position at Intel Corporation, one of the leading tech giants in the United States. He joined as a Module Development Engineer at Intel’s Oregon office on January 6, earning an annual salary of approximately 1.83 crore BDT, which, along with bonuses and benefits, amounts to around 2.42 crore BDT. His compensation package includes health insurance, children’s education support, and coverage for his personal academic expenses.

Banna’s role involves working on logic transistor development, a critical area in semiconductor technology. His journey to Intel was far from easy but a testament to dedication and perseverance.

A Journey of Academic Excellence

Banna completed his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from East West University, Dhaka. He then pursued a Master’s degree at Yeungnam University, South Korea, before completing a PhD at Michigan State University, USA, in just 3.5 years.

Before joining Intel, he briefly taught at a Chinese university, gaining valuable experience that helped shape his career.

In an interview, Banna shared, “I started applying for jobs during my PhD in 2024. I received an interview call from Intel in mid-April. After three rigorous interview rounds, I got the final confirmation in June. Each stage felt like a test of everything I had learned in life.”

He described the final interview as the toughest — a day-long session with scientists, engineers, and technicians, where he had to provide precise answers to complex technical questions.

“When I finally received the offer, it felt like a dream come true. But my PhD wasn’t finished yet, so I worked even harder to complete it before joining Intel on January 6,” he added.

Inspiration for Future Generations

Banna grew up in Badalgachhi, Naogaon, and studied in Joypurhat, completing SSC from Akkelpur FU Pilot High School (2006) and HSC from Akkelpur MR Degree College (2008).

Encouraging aspiring students, Banna said, “If you don’t dream big, you’ll never try. And without trying, success is impossible. Alongside academics, engaging with clubs and organizations helps develop leadership skills, which can be incredibly valuable later.”

His success story is an inspiration for Bangladeshi students aiming to make their mark on the global tech stage, proving that with relentless effort and a clear vision, anything is possible.
