Legendary Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is coming to Dhaka to perform at the opening ceremony of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024. The announcement came from Syed Ahmed Maroof, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
In his post, Maroof mentioned a meeting with Asif Mahmud, Advisor to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, where they discussed Rahat’s performance and other mutual interests.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed Rahat’s participation, promising a mesmerizing performance for fans. Alongside international stars, the event will feature local legends. While Miles is confirmed, discussions are ongoing with Nagar Baul’s James.
In another exciting update, ticket prices will be reduced this year to attract more spectators, as confirmed by BPL Governing Council member Fahim Sinha.
Preparations are in full swing for the 11th edition of BPL, set to kick off in three venues, including Mirpur Stadium. The interim government is actively supporting BCB to ensure a fan-friendly tournament.
