Daak Chithi has been honored as one of the winners in the Rights category of the prestigious YCM Challenge 2025, standing out among over 50 global teams and more than 300 changemakers from across four continents.
The project, which combines the heartfelt charm of handwritten letters with the efficiency of modern technology, was selected for its unique mission to revive emotional intimacy in communication. At its core, Daak Chithi allows users to craft personalized letters using handwriting-style fonts, which are then printed and delivered—offering the warmth of traditional letters without the long wait of postal delays.
“We started Daak Chithi because we missed feeling close to people. This project was never just about letters—it was about reminding ourselves, and others, that emotions deserve space and care takes time,” said Jannatul Maida, Chief Operating Officer of Daak Chithi. “This win tells us we’re not alone in that feeling.”
The YCM (Youth Challenge Movement) Challenge is a global initiative inviting youth aged 14–25 to address pressing social issues through dialogue, teamwork, and a design sprint. Winners are selected based on their innovative approach, social relevance, and potential for real-world impact. As a Rights category winner, Daak Chithi will now move into the mentored implementation phase.
Guided by mentor Murshidul Alam Bhuiyan, the Daak Chithi team includes Jannatul Maida, Kazi Sharafa Tonmona, Saima Ali Fariha, Tasfia Rahman Piyal, and Faria Alam. Together, they aim to scale the project’s impact and bring the joy of meaningful, intentional communication to a wider audience.
This achievement reaffirms Daak Chithi’s belief: in a world flooded with fleeting messages, some words deserve permanence—and the thoughtful space to be deeply felt.
