BUP MGT Students Shine in Public Speaking Competition: Voice of MGT

The Department of Management Studies at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) hosted the grand finale of the much-anticipated public speaking competition, Voice of MGT, on January 12, 2025, at the Bijoy Auditorium. This initiative, spearheaded by the students of the 9th Batch of Management Studies and guided by Lecturer S. K. Md. Anik Hassan Rabby, aimed to nurture critical communication and leadership skills among students.

Voice of MGT was introduced as a practical component of the Business Communication Course, with Lecturer Anik Hassan Rabby emphasizing,

“Education should go beyond textbooks and traditional lectures. Voice of MGT embodies my vision of creating a dynamic, impactful learning environment for students.”

The competition unfolded in three challenging rounds. Starting with 84 participants delivering individual presentations, the event proceeded to focus group discussions in the second round, testing teamwork and collaboration. The final stage saw 12 participants grouped into six teams delivering their pitch-off presentations.

The grand finale, graced by the Department of Management Studies’ Chairman, Lt Col Liana Mamun, psc, sigs, celebrated the students’ efforts. Lt Col Mamun remarked, “Voice of MGT is a remarkable platform that equips students with real-world communication skills essential for future leaders.”

Judges, including Lecturers Rakib Hasan Anik, Sadman Rana Rakin, and Souman Guha, provided insightful evaluations, guiding participants to refine their skills. After intense deliberations, Team Purpose Propellers, comprising Tabitha Mayusmita Sarkar and Mahin Aleem, emerged victorious. Team Fairies and Team Ful-kopi secured the first and second runners-up positions, respectively.

Reflecting on their victory, Mahin Aleem stated, “Voice of MGT pushed us out of our comfort zones, proving the significance of practical learning alongside traditional education. We’re grateful to Anik sir and the entire organizing team for this incredible opportunity.”

The event concluded successfully, leaving a lasting impact. One of the organizers shared, “Organizing Voice of MGT was challenging yet rewarding. The unwavering support from our Chairman, faculty members, and especially Lecturer Anik Hassan Rabby, made it all possible.”

Voice of MGT 2025 stands as a testament to BUP’s commitment to fostering holistic education, inspiring students to rise as leaders and communicators of tomorrow.
