Bangladeshi Siblings Invent Eco-Friendly Water Filter, Reach Diamond Challenge Finals

Two teenagers from Bangladesh, Shafi Bin Sultan and Sabik Bin Sultan, have just made history, becoming the first team from their country to reach the finals of the prestigious Diamond Challenge 2025, organized by the Horn Entrepreneurship Center at the University of Delaware.

Competing against over 1,200 teams and nearly 3,400 participants from 126 countries, the Sultan brothers’ innovative project, the BLUESHIELD FILTER, has earned a spot among the Top 5 in the Business Innovation category. Their invention, a portable and eco-friendly water filtration system, is designed to provide a sustainable solution for water-scarce and flood-prone regions in Asia and Africa.

What makes their achievement even more impressive is the months of hard work, research, and development that went into creating the BLUESHIELD FILTER, which uses advanced carbon nanomaterials and upcycled components. Although the full design is still under patent confidentiality, the brothers’ ingenuity has already caught the attention of the global community.

This incredible milestone will take the brothers to the Limitless World Summit in the USA on May 1-2, 2025, where they’ll have the chance to pitch their solution to a distinguished audience of global CEOs, investors, and scholars. This is not just an opportunity to represent Bangladesh; it’s their chance to contribute to solving the global issue of clean water access, a cause that is close to their hearts.

As they move forward, the Sultan brothers are poised to make a lasting impact on the world with their game-changing invention.
