Beloved Pakistani singer Atif Aslam, known for his soulful hits like “Dil Diyan Gallan” and “Tere Sang Yaara,” reportedly declined an invitation to perform in Saudi Arabia, out of respect for the sanctity of Makkah and Madinah. The decision has stirred mixed reactions among fans globally, many of whom admire his commitment to his beliefs, while others suggest he reconsider his career in music, saying, “Allah is everywhere.”
Aslam is celebrated for his live performances worldwide, with shows eagerly awaited by fans. However, he expressed that performing near these holy sites didn’t feel right to him. “My heart cannot accept performing near Holy places,” he reportedly shared in a statement.
Since 2017, Saudi Arabia has been hosting major concerts featuring international artists, following Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman’s lift on the music ban. Global stars, including BTS, have since performed in Riyadh, marking a new era for entertainment in the Kingdom.
