Anica Hossain, a Master’s student in Communication at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), has achieved global recognition by winning the prestigious “Global Student of the Year Award” at the Global Alliance World Public Relations and Communication Awards 2024. The ceremony was held at the World Public Relations Forum in Bali, Indonesia.
The competition, hosted by the Global Alliance, celebrates exceptional achievements in public relations and communication management, attracting over 100 entries from 20 countries this year. Anica emerged victorious in one of the 19 competitive categories, earning international acclaim for her innovative and strategic approach to communication.
Anica was shortlisted as a finalist alongside Jade Nguyen from New York University (NYU), USA. The award recognized both undergraduate and postgraduate students who excelled in public relations or strategic communication since 2019.
Reflecting on her journey, Anica shared:
“My submission highlighted my aspirations, achievements, and hands-on experiences in strategic communication. It included an animated video, a condensed version of my written statement. Completing the animation under tight deadlines was challenging but rewarding.”
Overwhelmed by her win, Anica expressed gratitude to ULAB, her teachers, and friends for their unwavering support. “This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without their encouragement and guidance,” she added.
Anica’s win not only marks a personal milestone but also showcases the global potential of Bangladeshi students on an international platform.
