In an inspiring departure from the usual semester-end industrial tour, the CSE 62A batch of World University of Bangladesh (WUB), under the guidance of Assistant Professor Ahsan Ullah, visited Apon Nibas Briddhasrom in Uttara, Dhaka. The visit offered students a rare opportunity to step outside the academic environment and engage directly with the elderly community, gaining hands-on experience in social responsibility and human empathy.
During the visit, the students took charge of organizing meals for approximately 120 residents, ensuring that every individual received proper care and attention. Beyond logistical support, they actively interacted with the elderly, listening to their stories, learning from their life experiences, and understanding the challenges and joys of daily life in a care home.

The students’ presence also included engaging with the caregivers at the facility, showing appreciation for their tireless work and gaining insights into the operational and emotional aspects of running such a home. Many students reported feeling deeply moved by the experience, recognizing the value of compassion, patience, and community service in real life—lessons that textbooks often fail to teach.
Sayeda Selina Shelly, Founder of Apon Nibas Briddhasrom, welcomed the students warmly and guided them through the daily routines of the home. She emphasized the importance of empathy and connection with the elderly, leaving a lasting impression on the visiting students.
Reflecting on the experience, the students expressed that this visit was far more impactful than a traditional industrial tour, as it offered both practical service experience and profound life lessons. The initiative also strengthened the bond between the students and the local community, highlighting the significance of giving back to society.
The visit was conducted at: Apon Nibas Briddhasrom, 1/6 East Chandpara, Uttarkhan, Uttara, Dhaka-1230, Bangladesh
